Ministry of Loneliness (2021) was an institution installated at deCurators, in Brasília. The work resulted from dialogues between Luciana Paiva and Rafael da Escóssia carried out from 2019 to 2021. Interested in the power dynamics in the Brazilian Federal District and the mechanisms of institutional validation within Visual Arts' social field, the artists studied Brasília's city map to cook cookies and devour them inside the gallery while a security camera recorded them.
The installation articulated issues such as the (privilege of) social and institutional isolation in times of COVID-19 pandemic, control, officialdom and militarism.
